Purpose of Job
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a member of the clinical team who provides technical care to patients under the supervision of a clinical team leader. The Licensed Vocational Nurse also assists in patient teaching/coaching assignments and other patient care requirements as needed.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Participate in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of client care.
  • Records vital signs as needed.
  • Accurately prepares and administers injections and medications as permitted by law.
  • Collects samples for routine lab tests.
  • Assist with patient examinations.
  • Accurately communicate in writing through utilization of appropriate charting method, the client care summary and proper transcription of medical orders.
  • Establish rapport with clients, while respecting client's rights to privacy and confidentiality of information.
  • Communicate pertinent information regarding clients results to the appropriate practitioner.
  • Recognize and respond to priorities in the client care process and adapt to change in workload. 
  • Assist in maintaining equipment assigned to client care and report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and supply of medication.
  • Follow all safety, security, and health procedures and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Must have)
  • High School diploma
  • Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program.
  • Current license from California State Board 
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Phlebotomy Certification (CPT)
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with Electronic Heath Records Systems (such as NextGen)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to adapt to different audience types
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly confidential environment and operate with the utmost discretion
  • Ability to build partnerships across the organization
  • Resourceful problem solver with careful attention to detail and consistent follow-through
Preferred Qualifications  
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Service-oriented approach with ability to discern customer preferences and anticipate customer needs
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize with minimal daily instruction.
  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Comfort with Salesforce, WebEx, DocuSign, and Macintosh computers

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending and kneeling
  • Must be able to lift and transport at least 25 pounds
